Widgets allow you to put quick, glanceable information from your apps to the Polygol home screen.

1st party Gurapp widgets (Weather, App Store, Music)

Usage

• Widgets help people take short, digestible information from your app.

• They're best used to help people accomplish their current task faster and easier.

Interactivity

Widgets are not interactive.

When tapped, they open a link specified in the widget definition. This can be used to open the app, or to open a specific intent in the app.

Information Density

Widgets are supposed to be used for quick glances. Information density is important.

For shortcut widgets

Don't

• use a widget for a shortcut with no extra information. Widgets should always show some kind of information.

Do

• show some information, such as a reason of the current displayed object, or a description, and an action button. This gives more context to the user.
